Guidelines for Contacting SitesThere are some general guidelines which should be followed when contacting sites before submission to the RFC-Ignorant database. Like many spam complaint guidelines, the first rule is to be polite and concise. Don't combine your spam complaint and your RFCI issue. They're not (really) related, even if you discovered the problems simultaneously. The people who deal with abuse and spam issues are generally not the same people who deal with such things as network contact info, setting up postmaster addresses, etc. One of the things we are working on is collecting "sample letters" which can be used by individuals wishing to report to the problem sites the scope of their error, and the effect it has upon others, as an attempt to present a unified message to those sites. Below is a list of the letters we have collected so far. You may, of course, feel free to submit any letters which are missing, or translations we do not have, to admin@rfc-ignorant.org.
